3 objectives we have set for the next 5 years are:
•	Reduce homelessness in the Sacramento Region by at least 20% by 2027
•	Make shelters in the county safer and more inclusive within the next 5 years
•	Get hundreds of unhoused individuals back into the workforce by the end of 2023
Text Box: One major goal city officials are working on is getting unhoused individuals back into the workforce so they can start rebuilding their lives. The emphasis right now is providing resources to help our homeless community get ready to be in a professional environment again. These resources include job fairs, resume reviews, interview attire clothing drives, vouchers for free or discounted haircuts, and open opportunities for showers and space for freshening up. It’s vital to the fight against homelessness that we not only get people back into housing but send them back into the world with the tools they need to support themselves. We can get anyone under a roof, but without an income and life skills, they’ll just end up right back on the streets. Getting folks back into the workforce and giving them opportunities to move up in society means everything to the rehabilitating process.
